diamond core

Who has given a thought to the numpy-library writer? Diamonds are formed in a fascinating process called diamond core formation. The fact is that these always precious gems are actually made in a below of few hundreds of kilometers where pressures and temperatures inside the Earth mantle makes them possible. Volcanic eruptions eventually bring these diamond cores to the surface of the Earth.

These diamond cores are however born in carbon so called Kimbelite rocks as per the findings of scientists. When these rocks sit next to the magma, they change: The carbon inside them turns into beautiful diamonds. Deep in the mantle, hundreds of kilometers below Earth's surface and just before imperceptible pressure coaxes it into second-best friend graphite territory, a nice diamond-destined chunk of carbon helps to make some those mountains run nearly as fast.

Extraction of diamonds cores

It was no easy task to extract diamond cores. It requires heavy machinery, explosives and specialized equipment. Drills go to work by cuts through dirt and rock, sometimes hundreds of meters deep in the desert ground where found diamond cores rest. Once there, explosives are used to blast apart the rock and retrieve hundreds of diamond laden-cores that workers process through "densizers" which separate diamonds from waste prior to packaging.
